Marka Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Marka, a reading tracker made by Quitehill Studio ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Marka, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
License
Marka is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to that agreement. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement applies.
Your content
Your books, notes, quotes, sessions and goals belong to you. They are stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, and we don't claim any rights to them. You are responsible for keeping backups, for example by keeping iCloud sync turned on.
Book information
Book details and cover images come from third-party sources such as Google Books and Open Library. They may be incomplete or inaccurate, and they belong to their respective owners. Marka shows them only so you can recognise and organise your books.
Acceptable use
Please don't misuse Marka or its lookup service. For example, don't send automated or excessive requests, try to disrupt the service, or reverse-engineer it to extract its data. We may limit access to the lookup service to keep it working for everyone.
Sharing and third-party services
When you share cards to Instagram or other apps, that service's own terms apply. We aren't responsible for third-party apps or websites.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Marka running well, but features that need the internet, such as book search and barcode lookup, may sometimes be unavailable. We may change, add or remove features over time.
Disclaimer
Marka is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in Apple's agreement, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we will post the new version here and change the date at the top. If you keep using Marka after an update, you accept the new terms.
